The Nokia Event went live in Delhi, Asha 501 lunched there. The phone greatly resembles the Nokia N9 infact it looks the grandchild of the Meego platform, Double tapping on screen to unlock. Other features include swiping keyboard to change language, The scroll feature is like N9, UI menu is like the N9, Clock also appears to be like the N9, Swipey homescreen with fast lane notification page.
Other specs of the phone include a micro-sim which is accessable when removing the back cover, 4 GB of built-in space which is expandable through a microSD card (upto 32GB). The phone packs a 3"-inch QVGA capacitive screen (133ppi). It also has 3.2 MP fixed focus camera. Asha mainly focuses on the 2G network with WiFi for local data transfer, Bluetooth 3.0 and microUSB 2.0.
The 3G enabled Asha 5xx phone will be revealed later theis year.
