Smartest VoIP app available on Play Store Viber is reportedly banned in Pakistan however the text messaging service is still working fine but the calls are reportedly banned as reports from different areas from Pakistan are circulating since evening and as per reports, Viber users are not able to make calls on various ISPs in almost all major cities, so this ban is not an ISPs specific but a country wide ban.

According to the sources in Pakistan, the Government takes this action due to the bad peace situation of major cities specially Karachi as local government of Karachi previously announced the ban on Skype, Viber and WhatsApp.Another twist is here to add into this news and the twist is that government ban this service due to the loss hitting the cellular companies because of free voice calling through Viber and other IM services.

In additions, VoIP calling is not legal in Pakistan and this is only legal for the call centers or you must have the permission to use VoIP calling from PTA (Pakistan Telecommunication Authority).
