Apple's biggest manufacturing partner, Foxconn, has given its 300,000 workers a task to churn up 500,000 iPhone 5s on the daily basis. The waiting time has been cut down from 2 to 3 weeks to just 3 to 5 days in some areas.
This is a report published by Wall Street Journal. The Hon Hai i.e. Foxconn has dedicated 100 individual line units for the manufacturing purpose of 500,000 iPhone 5s daily, yes, half a million iPhones per day. Each iPhone 5s manufacturing requires a handy work of about 600 workers to make it perfectly working.
"We have been churning out about 500,000 iPhone 5s everyday, the highest daily output ever. For the iPhone 5C or the iPhone 5, we only have 500 workers per production line as the assembly procedure is less complicated,"says the unnamed Foxconn executive."Although the market had concerns over demand for the new iPhone before its launch, out Zhengzhou production capacity for iPhones has continued to grow over the past two years."
The whole scenario explained above is a result of a bid by Apply to diversify its supply partners, which Foxconn cannot resist to lose the partnership share from Apple and let it go into the hands of lower level firms.Foxconn wants to avail the whole 40% of the total revenue of iPhone. This is the reason that they've increased their number of production lines and has reached to a tremendous manufacturing level of iPhones production per day.
