CPU for tablets by Intel in 2014? Well, it'll be a treat for the customers

Intel, already well known for its high-end technological background related to silicon chips has now stepped into the phone world and has announced to be manufacturing CPU for the tablets in 2014.The firm has decided to offer CPU to the low-end tablets.Moreover, the company has already released its Bay Trail-T chips for Windows 8/8.1.Hopefully, by the end of this year, it'll be offering the Bay Trail-T line for the Android platform.


Its Bay Trail CPU design is a series of model Z3735D designed for the low-end Android tablets pricing from $99 to $129 and $149 to $199 for those tablets with sizes 7 to 8 inch.The devices with 8 to 10 inch size will be available in the first quarter of 2014 with a price tag of $199 to $249.Intel have two main categories, Bay Trail and Cherry Trail which will be offered to the devices mentioned respectively.The price may increase from $249 to higher price tag for the devices with 10 inch of total size.

The Cherry Trail will have the 14nm Airmont architecture which will be released in the next year's September supporting both the 32 bit and 64 bit Windows 8/8.1 and Android tablets assembly lines simultaneously.Following it will be Willow Trail chip which will follow the architecture of 14nm Goldmont, which will be available in the fourth quarter of next year.

The Intel has some plans for the smartphones as well, with the announcement of 22nm Merrifield architecture with another announcement of Moorefield with the same 22nm architecture which will be available in the third quarter of next year.Both of the above mentioned chips will be usable in Android tablets.
