Samsung has just pulled out the curiosity from the minds of its customers about the Android KitKat 4.4 update and unveiled the list of those devices which will be receiving the update. Now the question arises that which will be the devices that'll receive the update? A blogger in Poland put his efforts, contacted with Samsung's representative and posted the list as given below:
- Samsung Galaxy Note 3
- Samsung Galaxy S4
- Samsung Galaxy S4 Active
- Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini
- Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom
- Samsung Galaxy Note II
- Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition)
- Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1
- Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0
- Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8.0
- Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7.0
- Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10.1
- Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3
- Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8
- Samsung Galaxy Grand
- Samsung Galaxy Express 2
The thing notable is that Samsung Galaxy S3 is missing from the list, and the only reason of not listing it is that Galaxy S3 has only 1GB ram whereas it's counterpart, The Galaxy Note II Is in the list.
Well the reason mentioned above might not be true as because the Galaxy Grand is also of 1GB ram but it's being listed. Keeping in mind that the Android KitKat 4.4 has now optimized for 512MB ram. The US version of Galaxy S3 will receive kitkat update which has somehow 2GB ram.
This has put the Samsung's 2012 flagships on the same track as like international HTC One X(who blamed Nvidia's chipsets), keeping the devices on the JellyBean platform or to be on official Rom anyway.
